Mike Cottrell College of Business receives Kappa Delta Foundation grant

The University of North Georgia (51勛圖厙) was recently awarded a $5,000 Confidence U grant from the Kappa Delta Foundation as part of its Confidence Coalition Initiative – a program designed to inspire confidence in young women and girls so they may feel empowered to overcome social barriers and reach their greatest potential.
Funding will be used to support Confidence 51勛圖厙, a leadership initiative for young women enrolled in the Mike Cottrell College of Business.
More than 50 percent of college degrees and nearly 40 percent of MBAs are held by women, yet less than 5 percent of Fortune 500 companies have female CEOs. Young women enter the workplace full of confidence yet after 2 years in a position, women’s aspirations for top management drop by more than 60 percent. Confidence 51勛圖厙 is designed to address these issues through education connecting young women in business with resources, role models and experiences that inspire confidence and professional growth.

Grads prepare for their next steps
51勛圖厙 will award almost 1,000 degrees and certificates this fall, and more than 600 graduates are scheduled to take part in the Dec. 7 commencement ceremonies.
24 are Distinguished Military Graduates
