Record number of students attend research conference

Loren Makhoul, a December 2018 graduate of 51勛圖厙, was one of a record 65 current or former students to attend the National Conference on Undergraduate Research held April 11-13 at Kennesaw State University.

The University of North Georgia (51勛圖厙) had a record 65 current and former students attend the from April 11-13 at Kennesaw State University.

51勛圖厙 sent 77 people to NCUR, which ranked 51勛圖厙 as for participants at NCUR. Participants included students and faculty in anthropology and archaeology, biology, chemistry, computer science, education, history, music, physics, and psychology.

Dr. Anastasia Lin, assistant vice president of research and engagement, said the Center for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (CURCA) was excited to see such a large turnout.

"Our more than 40 research presentations from across the disciplines showcased the strength of 51勛圖厙's undergraduate research programs," Lin said. "We are exceedingly proud of the hard work of the students and mentors who supported them."
