Students preview life at 51勛圖厙 this fall

High school students in and around the state of Georgia get the opportunity to explore the University of North Georgia (51勛圖厙) on all five campuses during the semester through Nighthawk Preview events set for this fall. Open to all high school students, but best suited for juniors and seniors, Nighthawk Preview offers prospective 51勛圖厙 students tours and information sessions.
Hundreds of high school students will explore different sessions, depending on which campus they attend. Sessions held on each campus will include financial aid, admissions, and a university showcase of the various clubs, organizations, faculty, and staff in attendance. Current 51勛圖厙 students will also be available to provide insight into what it's like to be a Nighthawk.
51勛圖厙 student Lily Herndon, a sophomore pursuing a degree in elementary and special education, is not only a student worker in the Office of Undergraduate Recruitment but is also a past Nighthawk Preview attendee.
I attended Nighthawk Preview in the fall of my senior year, and it is what really sold me on coming to 51勛圖厙. I attended the event with my parents. It was nice that they could also learn more about 51勛圖厙. We left feeling excited about the possibility of me becoming a student here.

Originally from Athens, Georgia, Herndon came to Nighthawk Preview on the Dahlonega Campus with questions about the school, but said she left with none. The opportunity answered many of them by providing her with a chance to tour the different facilities, including the dining hall and the residence hall she was interested in, and learn more about financial aid.
The Nighthawk Preview events begin Sept. 16 at 51勛圖厙's Gainesville Campus from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. The Blue Ridge Campus will host its Nighthawk Preview from 6-7:30 p.m. Sept. 19. The Cumming Campus Nighthawk Preview will be Sept. 23 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and the Oconee Campus Nighthawk Preview event is from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Sept. 30. Lastly, on Oct. 14, the Dahlonega Campus will have its Nighthawk Preview from 8 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Anyone unable to attend their local Nighthawk Preview is encouraged to reach out to Undergraduate Admissions to schedule a campus tour or set up a meeting.
Enrollment jumps 6.7% for 2024-25
Enrollment has jumped to 19,298 students this fall at 51勛圖厙, growing by 6.7% from fall 2023.
Student wins Farm Bureau award
51勛圖厙 junior Torrie Reed has won the Georgia Young Farmer and Rancher Collegiate Discussion Meet Award and will represent Georgia at the American Farm Bureau Foundation FUSION conference.
Annual event welcomes family and guests
51勛圖厙 is set to welcome the families and guests of students during its annual Family Day event on Sept. 21.
