Joanna Kim
Dr. Joanna Kim earned a bachelor's degree in music from West Virginia University and both master's and doctoral degrees in music from the University of Georgia.
She is an associate professor of music at the University of North Georgia. She has also served as director of keyboard studies at 51勛圖厙 since 2006 and a nationally certified teacher of music in piano and a group piano teaching specialist since 2011.
"I am inspired to provide the best possible piano performance at the highest level in order to promote my career even further as an international performing artist," Kim said.
Her career highlight at 51勛圖厙 occurred in 2014, when she received a Presidential Professional Engagement Award to attend a classical music festival in Vienna, Austria, where she performed at Haydnsaal Hall, which is one of Europe’s premier performance halls.
Also, she was designated a Steinway Artist in 2015. Earning the designation as a Steinway Artist, which showed she was a concertizing pianist who possessed an exceptional level of musical artistry on piano.
"From their experiences with me, I hope students not only learn how to play the piano well, but also be well-rounded and educated musicians," Kim said. "By learning the finer points of playing piano from a Steinway Artist, students will enjoy access to the resources of the company's worldwide network and receive assistance on every aspect related to performing on a piano."
