Family Nurse Practitioner (MSN)

The University of North Georgia offers a Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration in Family Nurse Practitioner degree. The FNP program is designed to prepare experienced registered nurses to sit for national certification as a family nurse practitioner and to qualify for advanced practice authorization.

The MSN-FNP program is available with both a two-year plan of study and a three-year plan of study. The three-year plan of study allows students to take one course at a time, until their final year, and delays their entry into the clinical courses by one year. This is a great option for students who want to continue to work full time, have other responsibilities, or want their educational journey to be at a slower pace. The two-year plan of study requires two courses per semester with clinical hours beginning in the fall. Most clinical courses require 120 clinical hours. While the two-year plan of study remains a viable option for working professionals, the time requirement can be intense for students who find they work a great deal or have other commitments.
